With all of the materials used around a fireplace, you’ll want to make sure the product specs state they can withstand high heat temps!!

  • Hammer drill with chisel attachment: Used for demo work.

  • Wet tile saw: Essential for precise tile cutting.

  • Drill: For various tasks and attachments.

  • Dremel tool: Handy for detailed work.

  • Notched trowels: Different sizes for applying thinset.

  • Regular grouting trowel: Used to apply grout.

  • Rubber grout float: Perfect for smoothing and shaping grout lines.

  • Sponge & bucket with clean water: Essential for cleaning tile and grout.

  • A level: For ensuring everything is perfectly aligned.

  • Hardiebacker cement board: Used as a substrate for tiling.

  • Tile: Molly's choice of mesh-backed tile sheets.

  • Premixed thinset mortar: Ideal for adhering tile and stone.

  • Premixed tile grout and grout-mud tray: For finishing the tilework.

  • Caulk: Color-matched to the grout, used to seal edges.
